The 2017 GMC Canyon is the automaker’s smallest pickup truck, available in two cab styles and two bed lengths. Rear-wheel drive comes standard and four-wheel drive is optional on all variants except the manual-equipped four-cylinder gas variant.

Available features include GMC’s Intellilink infotainment system with navigation and a larger eight-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, 4G LTE connectivity, four USB ports, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a rearview camera, remote start, a seven-speaker Bose premium audio system, and 17-18-inch alloy wheels.

The NHTSA gave the 2017 Canyon a four-star overall safety rating (out of a possible five stars). Only the crew cab variant has been tested by the IIHS, scoring Good in the moderate overlap front crash test (Good is the highest possible score). In the front crash prevention test, the Canyon received a Basic rating since it’s not available with automatic emergency braking. Active safety features include forward collision warning and lane departure warning.
